Currently, there are about 144 holes available throughout Los Cabos. Moreover, newer and bigger courses are being constructed like those of the Puerto Los Cabos Resort. This new 1,900 –acre gated golf community is believed to will be housing a world-class marina complex and two 18-hole tracks designed by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman.

The El Dorado Golf & Beach Club is considered to be one of the outstanding golf courses in Mexico. It is popular among golfers for its unique fairways, dogleg, water and bunker challenges. It also offers a spectacular view of the beautiful desert landscapes of Los Cabos. El Dorado is also renowned for their exquisite facilities, fitness center, shopping boutiques, and numerous dining facilities. It has also made significant changes and renovations. El Dorado has changed its status from public to private. Moreover, it has also removed several oceanfront holes, which will be sold at US$8 million per site.

Another world-class golf course is the Cabo San Lucas Country Club (formerly The Raven Golf Club). This amazing golf course sits on 745 acres of prime real estate and provides the magnificent view of the Land’s Ends. The flora and fauna of the place is also worth acknowledging. Moreover, its 620-yard par 5 seventh hole is considered to be the longest in Mexico.

Considered as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world for ten years straight is Cabo del Sol- The Ocean Course. This golf course is referred as the Pebble Beach of Baja. It is designed by Jack Nicklaus, which he then coined as “the best piece of golf property in the world”. This golf course features one and a half miles of oceanfront.

Cabo del Sol- The Desert Course is a masterpiece of Tom Weiskopf. It offers a distinctive combination of the desert and the ocean. Moreover, this golf course poses an exciting challenge to golfers with its sloping fairways and bunkers.

The Cabo Real Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is one of the most enchanting golf courses in the world. It was also this golf course where people have observed whales as they migrate to the Mexican Seas, like what happened during the 1996 PGA Senior Slam Tournament. Moreover, this golf course averages to about 20,000 rounds a year. It also has the toughest front nine in Cabo San Lucas.

Another popular golf course in Los Cabos is the Palmilla Golf Resort. It is the only 27-hole golf course in Los Cabos. It also features the Arroyo Nine, Mountain Nine and the Ocean Nine. Palmilla Golf Resort was the first signature creation of Jack Nicklaus in Latin America. It also hosted the 1997 Senior Slam.

The Querencia Golf Course was a Tom Fazio designed golf course which has a nine-hole short course, excellent facilities, 26,000 square-foot clubhouse and a spectacular view of the Sea of Cortez. This 840-acre resort offers fairways and greens with a mixture of desert flora and fauna. It was ranked as one of the Top 10 golf courses in Latin America by the Golf Magazine.

The Mayan Country Club Los Cabos is a fairly recent golf course which opened last November 2004. It offers a family-friendly course with an amazing view of the East Cape and the Sea of Cortes.

For those with a limited budget, the Villas de Cortez Golf Course would be just the thing for you. This golf course is only about an hour’s drive north of the Los Cabos International Airport. The course was built on a former airstrip runway and features holes that ranges from 55 yards to 115 yards. It also has several sand traps and water hazards. Its green fees are also considered to be the most economical in all of Los Cabos. It only requires a fee of US$20 for nine holes.

Also, a rather new golf course is the Club Campestre San Jose. This golf course features a 550-acre upscale community which has an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Club Campestre is also considered to be the first golf course to use Palpalum grasses that are resistant to salt water. This golf course will also have a beach club, social club and large rental center with movie theaters.
